On Tuesday March 31, 2020, the Premier of Ontario announced that in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all schools in Ontario will remain closed until at least May 1 for staff and May 4 for students. Premier Ford also said that the province is prepared to extend the school closures even further if required.

All Upper Grand District School Board schools will remain closed during this period. In addition to the extension of the school closures, we would like to remind our school communities that all UGDSB schoolyard play structures remain closed.

The UGDSB continues to work hard on readying the first stages of our Distance Learning Plan for launch to students and families on April 6.

This week teachers are contacting all families to check in, inquire about students’ access to technology at home, ensuring students have the necessary passwords and logins, and to ensure families are aware of the learning resources currently available on the board website and Ministry’s Learn at Home website.
