Tuesday, April 14th – Morning Announcements

Posted April 14, 2020

Bonjour tout le monde. Aujourd’hui c’est mardi le 14 avril, 2020. Si le monde nous attend, qu’est-ce que nous allons le montrer? If the world is waiting for us, what are we going to show it?

Each day, let’s show we’re learning! The expectation of the Ministry of Education is that every student will continue to learn while schools are closed. That is going to look different in different homes, and that’s okay! Your teachers are here to help – please reach out in the Google Classroom, by email, or by phone.

Last week, we were looking for people to share the resources they use for learning. Here’s a great one, made just for you:

“Good morning from Mme Kristiansen. If you haven’t already checked out King George’s virtual Learning Commons (library), I invite you to come take a look! https://sites.google.com/ugcloud.ca/kgvirtuallearningcommons

On the site you will find literacy activities and information. (read alouds, forest of reading activities/readings, games, brain exercises etc). I will be adding a coding link for those who would like to explore that as well. We are very excited about challenging you and your family to a weekly STEM/STEAM challenge for ALL divisions. Since last week was a big week for everyone we will keep the STEM challenge #1 going for one more week. I hope this will be a fun extra for you and your family. Please email [email protected] with any questions.”

Take a photo of something you’ve learned or write a comment about it, then tweet it @kinggeorgeps or send it to [email protected] You might inspire someone else with your great idea!

Have a lovely day, King George!
