Weekly Update

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.  It’s nice to see the sun for a change!

Last week was a good one.  Thursday, especially, was lovely.  It was so good to see students enjoying themselves and being kids together.  I am very grateful to parents for helping our students choose great costumes that were appropriate and inclusive.  I didn’t see anyone dressed up in a way that “costumized” (that isn’t likely a word, but I hope you know what I mean!) anyone’s identity.  Students were wearing fun, creative and respectful outfits, and I appreciate your support with that.

This week is Treaties Recognition Week.  Students will be learning about treaties throughout the week.  Here is a link to one out of the many resources the board has shared with teachers. You may like to have a look at a little bit of what your children will be discussing this week.

This week the Intermediate soccer team will have a tournament at school on Thursday afternoon.  We still can’t take the students on a bus to other schools, but our coaches want to give them a chance to use the skills they’ve been practising over the season.  Many thanks to Mme Clune and Mme McCormick for coaching the team this fall.

Our Winter Greens Fundraiser is in full swing!  We are raising funds for some tech upgrades in the library.  Check out the school website for all the details!

I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday afternoon.

With warm regards,

Jane Bibby, Principal
