Survey to request change between in-person and remote learning (Oct. 14-21)

October 13, 2020

The first transition date for switching between remote and in-person learning modes is November 30, 2020. The UGDSB is exploring an additional opportunity later in the school year for an additional change date. This could coincide with the end of the next reporting period. However, a decision has not been made at this point if an additional re-entry point will be offered.

To request a change for elementary students, parents/guardians must complete the Intent to Change Survey between October 14-21. The deadline to complete the survey is Oct. 21 at 4pm.

The survey provides elementary students with three options:

  1. I want to switch my child to Synchronous (aka real-time) Remote Learning for November 30.
  2. I want to switch my child to Asynchronous (aka not real-time) Remote Learning for November 30.
  3. I want to switch my child to In-Person school learning for November 30.

Only those parents and guardians who want a change are to complete the survey. If a survey form is not completed by the closing date, the student’s current learning mode status will remain.

Families who are unable to access the online survey should call their home school for assistance between Oct. 14 and 21.

All families who complete the Intent to Change Survey will receive more information before the transition date of November 30, 2020.

For additional information, please visit the UGDSB website at www.ugdsb.ca/survey. Please note that the survey will not open until October 14.
