Holiday Food Drive & Notes About Next Week (December 11th)

Posted December 11, 2020

Thank you to the Maryborough School Community for your support during our Holiday Food Drive. As a result of your generosity, 557 items were collected to be donated to our loal food bank. This is testament to our caring school community. We exceeded our goal of 180 items (one for every student at our school). See the photo below.

Just a few notes about the upcoming week. The format of our Virtual Holiday Concert will be a bit different than our Virtual Remembrance Day Assembly. Instead of being a “real-time” performance, next week a Google Slideshow link will be shared to our school website and to all Google Classrooms. This link will contain all of the files related to our Holiday Concert for families to view in the comfort of their homes.

With regard to treats, just like with Halloween, we are asking that treats or other items (i.e., pens, stickers) not be sent in to be shared by students. Your child’s teacher will provide more direction as required (i.e., if students can bring in their own treat during a class activity, Secret Santa following Public Health guidelines etc.). We have also been asked by families if they can send in appreciation gifts for their child’s teacher. This will be allowed again following Public Health protocols; but as an alternative option, you might also choose to make a donation to the local food bank or the Upper Grand Learning Foundation.

We are looking forward to our next Spirt Day on Friday, December 18th – Holiday Theme or Colour Day.

As always, we thank you for your continued support – Mr. Dickieson and the Staff at MPS
