Substance Found Around the School – May 23, 2023

Dear Minto-Clifford Public School Families,
Today, an unknown substance was found around the exterior of the school building. Upon further investigation, it is believed that yesterday afternoon an unauthorized individual applied a product called Diatomaceous Earth around the building to treat for the possible presence of ants.

We understand that the unauthorized application of products in our school setting is concerning. Such actions are inappropriate and unacceptable as they create potentially unsafe circumstances for children, staff and visitors at our school. When we became aware of the presence of this substance, steps were taken to keep children away from it. Further intervention including the disposal of this product has been initiated. Police have been contacted and board personnel are investigating and taking appropriate action.
