Asymptomatic COVID-19 testing available to our school on March 18, 20, 21

Asymptomatic COVID-19 testing is available for all students and their family members and staff from our school on March 18, 20 and 21, 2021. 

The testing is voluntary and consent will be required. Testing is for asymptomatic individuals only (i.e. not showing/experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. To check for COVID-19 symptoms, use the provincial screening tool at: 

Testing Details

The testing will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School (287 Imperial Road S, Guelph).

Testing times:

  • Thursday March 18, 2021, from 6pm-9pm
  • Saturday March 20, 2021, from 9am-3pm
  • Sunday March 21, 2021, from 9am-3pm

We will send all families information on how to register for testing and complete consent forms. While pre-registration is preferred, walk-ins will also be accepted.

Testing Vendor

The asymptomatic testing will be conducted and managed by LifeLabs and will take place in a designated “hub” school each week. 

For the test, LifeLabs uses a swab similar to a Q-tip that is inserted into the front part of the nostril and rotated for fifteen seconds (per nostril). LifeLabs’ trained staff will perform the test in a space designated by the school. While some students may be nervous about testing, LifeLabs stresses that the test is not painful and should not be uncomfortable for your child. The test should take no more than two minutes from start to finish. Test results will be provided within 24-48 hours. Results will be uploaded to
