THIS YEAR’S TEST IS TUESDAY MARCH 31
Students have to write the OSSLT to graduate high school
Students have to write the OSSLT on the test day and in the AM
Students get results the same year at the end of June

What to do if you are anxious:
-Talk to any of your teachers
-Talk to your grade 9 or English teachers for advice
-Make sure you take advantage of class time related to OSSLT
-Come to Credit Rescue in room 109 on late bus days
-Make an appointment with student services – guidance, special Ed, or student success
-Sign-up for Pass The Test Program – PTTP that teaches to the test
-Make sure you know when, where, and how the test will be written
-If you have an IEP, use it!!!
Pass the Test Program

The Upper Grand District School Board is providing an opportunity to prepare for the OSSLT through a program called Pass the Test, and it is taught by teachers here at Norwell. This is a chance for your son or daughter to improve his or her reading and writing skills for the OSSLT.
The program is free of charge and all students who are eligible to write the OSSLT in March are encouraged to attend these sessions.
The Pass the Test Program will run at Norwell during second semester after school.
WHAT:
- a voluntary non-credit 15 hour course called “Pass the Test Program”
- the course provides direct classroom instruction on the tasks of the OSSLT, with help from trained teachers
- the course supplements and extends a short test-preparation unit offered in the school for grade 10 students
WHERE:
- Norwell District Secondary School: Location to be determined
DETAILS:
- free, all resources are provided for students enrolled in an UGDSB secondary school who are eligible to write the OSSLT, or who will retake the test in March 2019
- offered through the combined effort of UGDSB Program Department, UGDSB Continuing Education Department, and the school
- 1 ½ hour sessions, 2 afternoons per week starting in February
