3D Printing

3D printing is a method used to construct or "print" three dimensional objects from digital models using a machine called a 3D printer. At UGDSB, digital models for 3D printing are sourced using Tinkercad or Thingiverse. Thingiverse is an online repository of 3D printing designs that other people have made, some of which require payment in order to obtain the file.
TJRC has a 3D printer on site that is used to support staff and student projects. Cost of materials for the project is charged back to the school or department. Files must be scaled to the correct size and provided in .SVG file format to be printed. Availability of support is dependent on time of year, TJRC staff capacity, and project details (i.e., dimensions, quantity).
