ON-Core
ON-Core provides more than 20,300 educational videos, documentaries, podcasts and more - all of which have been selected for and correlated to the Ontario K-12 curriculum. Content is available in English, French, and several Indigenous languages. The entire platform can be viewed in French by clicking the "FR" button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
ON-Core recognizes UGDSB staff and students automatically, so no need to enter a username or password. To access ON-Core, navigate to the student UGCloud landing page - the site should automatically sign you in.
Key features
Curriculum search
Each video in ON-Core is aligned to strands of the Ontario curriculum. To use the curriculum search function, click the magnifying glass icon at the top of the page and select options from the drop-down menus - the results on the page will refresh each time you make a selection.
Language filter
Content in ON-Core can be filtered by language, including French and Indigenous languages. Click the magnifying glass icon at the top of the page and then click the drop-down menu labelled "All Languages". The results on the page will refresh each time you make a selection.
Classroom compatibility
Although the full ON-Core platform is only available by authenticating through UGCloud, individual videos can be shared in Google Classroom or Brightspace. On a video page, look underneath the embedded video for the short URL and copy and paste into your classroom.
