Professional Learning eLibrary
TJRC's Professional Learning eLibrary provides UGDSG staff with access to professional eBooks on topics like literacy, EdTech, special education, classroom management, culturally responsive teaching, and more. Each of the titles includes unlimited simultaneous use, which means that multiple staff members can read the same material at the same time - great for PD or school-wide reads.
The platform is powered by Gale and recognizes UGDSB staff using Microsoft authentication. On the Professional Learning eLibrary landing page, click the Sign in with Microsoft button to access.
Key features
Themed collections
Books in the Professional Learning eLibrary are organized by theme - some books may appear in more than one collection, depending on the content. On the homepage, look under "View Collections" and click on a theme to browse the books available on that topic.
Keyword searching
Look for content using specific phrases and keywords with the search function. On the homepage, click in the search bar, type in your term(s), and hit enter. The results list will show a list of chapters from different books that relate to your search - filter using the options on the right-hand side of the page.
Accessibilty supports
The Professional Learning eLibrary includes embedded support for accessibility, with customizable features at the chapter level. Change the background colour, text font, line spacing, and more by clicking on the "Aa" icon from the row of circular icons on a document page.
