Absent/Late Students: If your child is going to be ABSENT or LATE, it is a parent/guardian responsibility to advise the school. You can contact the school by calling 519-824-3661 x 100 prior to the school day starting (8.40am).
It is Board Policy that if your child is absent without explanation, parents or guardians will be contacted in the following order: at home, cell phone, at work, email, emergency contact, and if warranted, the police.
Student Sign In/Out: If your child arrives late or is being picked up during the school day, they must be signed in/out at the office to ensure student safety.
If your child is late, once signed in, they will receive a late slip and can proceed to class.
If they are being picked up, they will be called to the office when you arrive.
Volunteers:
We love our volunteers. Field trips, classroom help, special events: none of it happens without you. Before you can join us, though, there's one important piece of paperwork to take care of.
📋 What You Need
As per the ministry mandate, all parents and guardians must have a completed criminal record check (Vulnerable Sector Check) on file before volunteering at school or on field trips. This applies to everyone, even if you're only planning to join us for a single trip.
💻 How to Get Started
The process is completed online through Guelph Police Service:
✉️ Grab Your Letter First
As part of the online application, you'll be asked to upload a letter from the school confirming your volunteer role (WCW Volunteer Role). We have these prepared and ready to go, so just contact the office to pick one up before you start.
⏰ Don't Wait
These checks can take some time to process, so if you're hoping to join a field trip this year, now is the time to get started. Future you (standing proudly at the pumpkin patch with 25 excited kids) will thank you.
