Return to School

Posted February 5, 2021

The Ontario Ministry of Education informed the Upper Grand District School Board that in-person learning for elementary students will resume on Monday, February 8, 2021.

This announcement does not impact students who were already enrolled in the Full Remote Learning program.

Student Health and Safety Reminders

  • All Grade K-12 students learning in-person are now required to wear a mask while outside  (i.e., during recess, breaks, and outdoor learning activities). Please consider sending extra masks with your child.
  • Students are asked to arrive as close to 8:45am as possible. When students arrive at school they are to line up in their assigned class lines 6 feet apart with masks on.
  • Students are discouraged from congregating in groups before or after school and should maintain a two-metre distance from others while walking to and from school.
  • We ask that each household limit themselves to 1 parent/guardian accompanying children.  This is to aid in physical distancing for the safety of our students, staff and community.
  • Parent/guardian must wear a mask while on school property. This is a Public Health and board expectation.
  • In addition, families are reminded to complete the daily self-assessment for each child in their household prior to attending school or riding the bus. This school screening tool is available at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/

Chromebook Return:

  • All students who borrowed a school chromebook are being asked to return the chromebook and charger to their homeroom teacher on Monday, February 8th.

Please continue to follow the advice of our public health partners, to help keep yourself and our communities safe and healthy.
