School Supplies

Posted August 11, 2021

Hello Families,

We hope you are having a relaxing summer with family and friends.  We are looking forward to seeing our students on the first day of school – September 7th!  The Ministry of Education have released their new COVID guidelines for schools this year.  As many of you know, this is shifting ground and the rules change as case numbers change and new science emerges.  We will do our best to let families know about significant changes to these plans if/when they change.  If you are interested in reading out the Ministry of Educations School Reopening Plan, you can find it here:  Reopening Plan.

Many families ask about what schools supplies they should purchase for their children.   Our Community Outreach Program also offers a Backpack Program for families who may need financial assistance with purchasing school supplies.  If you would like to sign your child(ren) up for the Community Outreach Backpack Program, please fill out the form here:  Backpack Program.  If you are looking for recommendations for what to purchase for your child(ren), our Gr.1-8 list can be found here:  School Supply List  If you are looking for a Kindergarten list, please see our school’s Kindergarten Website for more information about what to pack your little one.  We also recommend good quality outdoor clothing for all grades and all weather.  We aim to be outside a lot this year!

If you are looking for the 2021-22 School Year calendar, with all of the holidays and PD days listed, you can download it here:  2021-22 School Year Calendar

We will be posting first day information closer to the start of school.  Please visit our website often and sign up for the UGConnect App on your phone for the most up to date information.  Currently our offices are closed, but staff will be back in the building on August 31st.  Please call the main office and leave us a phone message and we will get back to you as soon as possible 519-343-3520.  The school continues to remain closed to only essential visitors this year.

Have a great rest of your summer.  We’ll see you soon!

Mr. Hale and Mrs. Dyer
Principal and Vice Principal
