The following board policy currently under review was released for public consultation: 312 – Website and Social Media Management
Feedback is welcome on the draft documents until May 26, 2022, at 4pm.
The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) supports appropriate, safe, and secure two-way communication between the board, its’ schools, and their communities (teachers, students, parents/caregivers) by providing guidelines for effective digital communication and participation to support student achievement and well-being.
The policy and procedures for website and social media management have been updated to reflect the board’s commitment to ensuring the safety and privacy of staff and students. Procedures have been aligned with software vetting practices that are now required for all third-party tools/apps/services used for board business.
Policy 312 is important to students, parents, staff, school councils, and community members because everyone plays a role in creating and maintaining a safe online learning and working environment where everyone can participate fully, thrive, and reach their full potential, free from trauma, bias, stereotyping, oppression and systemic racism.
