Volunteer Management

How to create a Volunteer Recruitment Strategy

It is one of the greatest challenges we face as School Councils. Recruiting new members to join is sometimes the most difficult exercise any council’s chair will face.

Unfortunately, the greatest reason is that we are willing to take any volunteer and we fail miserably to educate the right volunteer about their roles and responsibilities.

Adults are similar to our kids; they don’t want to fail and are embarrassed to be underutilized. Therefore, make communication the number one priority of any council and you will be successful. Educate parents about what you need them to do and clearly articulate how much time is needed. See this example of a presentation you should have with your council.
