Principal’s Message – December 1, 2019
Congratulations to the Breakfast with Santa Committee on a hugely successful event yesterday. It is wonderful to invite our community in and enjoy time with Santa and each other. The breakfast, the treasure trays, silent auction, cookies, vendors, clothing swap, bake sale and photo booth…amazing. I was reminded yesterday of how unique and wonderful our Primrose Community is. I feel very privileged to be part of it.
Congratulations to all of our students who were part of the Frozen cast in the LP Production in Shelburne. All of the school were able to see your performances and the reviews were fantastic. We are very proud of you.
Congratulations to the girls and boys intermediate volleyball teams who competed on the County tournament on Thursday. Special congratulations to the boys team who has moved on to the level. Thank you to Mrs. Williamson, Ms. Cation, and Ms. Kelk for coaching the team. As always, we are thankful to our parent drivers and cheerleaders. Go Pumas Go!
Last Monday, members of the Mary Poppins cast and our One Voice One Team Outreach Squad spread a little cheer at Dufferin Oaks Senior Residence. They performed songs from the show, sang some carols and gave out Christmas cards. Our students have a passion for wanting to make a difference in their community. Thanks to a donation by the “Take A Break Club” we were able to pay for the busses to make this happen.
A reminder to all that due to the OSSTF planned one day strike on Wednesday, ALL schools (including Primrose) will be closed to students. Although our teachers belong to another bargaining unit, our office coordinator, educational assistants and early childhood educators are members of OSSTF. These staff members play a key role in the security and safety of our students. As a result, the Board has decided that elementary schools need to be closed too. We are hopeful that negotiations will go well and the one day strike will be avoided, however, we want to give you ample time to make alternate arrangements for your children that day should the strike proceed.
Poinsettia pick-up has been moved to Thursday, December 5th as a result of the job action.
