Principal’s December Message

Posted December 3, 2018

November had many events occur such as; Remembrance Day assembly, Choose Kindness/Bullying Awareness Week, Junior and Intermediate Volleyball and Progress Reports/Parent-Teacher Interviews.   The Poinsettia Fundraiser and Cracker Drive also were on during the last month…a HUGE thank you to the community for supporting our Nutrition Program and School Council initiatives.

During the parent/teacher interviews, teacher’s would have shared next steps for students to target for the last few months of Term One and for the remainder of the school year.  Please discuss these next steps and goals with your child/ren. If you’re looking for ways to support your child/ren at home, check out the resources on UG2GO…https://webapps.ugdsb.on.ca/ug2go/school2go/.  Reading at home with your child/ren is a great habit to have.  In addition, avoiding screen time one hour before going to sleep for both children and adults helps for a more restful sleep.

To kick of the month of December, we had our annual Christmas Craft Fair.  Our School Council and Student Council helped with the organization of vendors, volunteers, baked goods, children’s activities and live music.  It was an amazing success! Thank you to all of the families who came out to support our school.

We wish all of the families at Princess Margaret a safe and happy holiday break at the end of the month and look forward to seeing the students back in the New Year on Monday, January 7th.

Happy Holidays!

Mrs. Papavasiliou & Mr. Turner
