REMINDER: Regarding September Possible Re-organization of Classes

Posted September 14, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians and Caregivers,

Thank you all for such a great start to our year. We always need to remember that the first and second week of school is when we confirm who is attending and to possibly need to re-organize our school class organization. Yesterday, I sent this information to everyone in my welcome letter:

A reminder about September class organization and potential need to reorganize classes. As is always the case each year, our September school and class organization is based on the very best information we had in the spring when staffing (number of classes and staff assigned to the school) was allocated.  September class placements are always tentative and please remember that September school/class reorganization is always a possibility.

Over the summer, with students moving in and out of the neighbourhood, most of our classes are currently almost at, or above capacity. Our most current enrolment numbers have been submitted to the Board, and a central staffing committee will determine our final school organization based on our current school enrolment.

At that time, staff will meet to decide on how to manage any changes that we are required to make to class organization. This can mean that we have students needing to change classes and we do know how unsettling this process can be.

We will do everything we can to minimize that disruption in order to be compliant with the parameters we are given by the Ministry of Education.

I will communicate this news when we know our next step. Thanks so much for your understanding of this process!

Thank Mrs. Morris
