Good morning Rockwood parents,

We have Gr 8 graduation photos being taken this Wednesday in the morning.

Please see the attached soccer flyer from the Royal City soccer club if interested. RCSC camp poster 2023-guelph.pdf

Please come and check out our lost and found as items are overflowing. Classes have been reminded to take a look this week. Items left will be donated on March 9th.

Our Readathon continues through to March 17. We are hoping to raise $3000 to purchase a new data projector for our gymnasium. If additional funds are raised, we will buy new books for our school, as well. Please encourage your child to read each day to help achieve their Read-a-thon goal!  Thank you for continuing to support literacy by reading with their children. Class prizes will be awarded for the most books read after the Break!  Please have your child use the Tally Sheet provided to track their reading progress. If you need another one, contact Mrs. Soper. All pledge sheets and money are due on March 21st, 2023. Parents will be responsible for submitting a lump sum payment on School Cash Online for the full amount of the pledges received.  You will only be able to make one lump sum payment to the Read-a-thon through the link provided. It will not work multiple times for additional payments.  School Cash Online Link

The Great Big Crunch is back this year on March 9th! Rockwood Centennial Nutrition Program is providing apples so that our school can participate. The Great Big Crunch (GBC) is an event founded by FoodShare and coordinated by the Coalition for Healthy School Food to raise awareness of the importance of healthy food at school. The GBC is a national movement and annual moment of anti-silence in which students, teachers, parents and others passionate about food crunch into apples (or other crunchy fruit or vegetable) to make noise for healthy school food. The theme of this year’s GBC is a tree, to signify unity & resilience.

School Council is fundraising with Purdy’s chocolates to raise money for playground equipment, repairs and line painting on our outdoor tarmac to help us make recess fun!
