On December 4th, senior art students currently focusing on life drawing, were invited to the AGO for a tour of the Michealangelo exhibit and the Alex Colville Exhibit, thanks to SHSM support. These two shows contained excellent examples of figure drawing studies as well as numerous other examples of preparatory drawings relevant to the development of a great work of art. Many interesting facts about Michealangelo were learned and the value of the creative process were clearly demonstrated!
The SHSM program also took students to the Stratford festival for a day of workshops on November 27th. Set design, costume design and make-up for theatre were just a few of the options for the “Arts and Culture” SHSM students to explore. Interested students in grade 10 or 11 should see Ms Brady in Guidance for more information
about the SHSM Arts and Culture program. Remember that aside from the certifications, reach-ahead activities and 2 senior arts courses required, there is also a necessary Arts-related COOP that must be fulfilled.
