Happy Monday, Ross R. MacKay Families!

It was a great first few days at school last week.  We were all so happy to have our students back in the building!

There have been a few items added to our school website that are important for you to review.  These include information about the Board’s Life-Threatening Medical Condition policy, the Board’s Smoke and Vape-Free Environment policy, our Board’s Threat Risk Assessment and Suicide Protocol Notification, and information about Emergency Drills that will take place this year.

Additionally, information has been posted to help with your self-screening at home.  It is a requirement that students are screened at home for symptoms of Covid-19 before the start of each school day.  As per the direction from Public Health, any students displaying symptoms of Covid-19 cannot be at school.  Staff are also required to self-screen in the morning before coming to work.  We thank you for your help with this!

We are looking for volunteers to join our School Council this year!  A number of important positions, including Chair and Treasurer, are currently vacant.  If you are interested in running for School Council, or would like to nominate someone, please fill out this form before September 28.  If you have any questions about the role of School Council or what the job might entail, please let Mrs. Tremblay know!

Lastly, we are encouraging all of our students to wear school colours on Friday (blue and white) to celebrate our first day back at school, all together.  This will be our first spirit day of the year!

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or by email.

Thanks for all of your support during this very unique return to school!

Warmly,

Lindsey Tremblay

Principal, Ross R. MacKay Public School
