The Coming Week @ SIB – October 2nd, 2019

Posted October 3, 2019

Hi SIB Families!

-Saturday is World Teacher’s Appreciation Day, we would like to take this opportunity to honour and acknowledge all the amazing things that our teachers do for our students and our community on a daily basis. THANK YOU TEACHERS!

-Our Terry Fox Fundraiser was a huge success!  SIB raised a total of $3442.00 dollars. This is incredible considering our goal was $2070.  We send each and everyone of you a heartfelt THANK YOU! Your support means so much to everyone here at SIB and to all who have been impacted by cancer.

Students, Staff and Parents came together to draft this year’s SIB Bullying Prevention Plan for 2019-20. The document is a collection of information about bullying and conflict, strategies to inform students and the community about it and stop it and data on our school population. It is also a document that lists the school’s goals and activities that will be a focus for this year to help educate and support all students in the school around bullying and conflict. The full document can be accessed by clicking the link

-Today students, staff and community members joined the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Active and Safe Routes to School (ASRTS) committee to celebrate Walk to School Day. Thank you to everyone from the Sir Isaac Brock PS and St. Ignatius of Loyola CS communities who participated.

– Congrats to everyone who participated in the Intermediate Touch Football tournament last week and good luck to all runners in the Intermediate Cross Country meet being held tomorrow.

-The Upper Grand DSB has set up a website to provide updates regarding provincial labour issues and the impact on UGDSB schools and board sites. Please visit for on-going updates.

-The first round of Food Orders began on Monday Sept 30th and they go to the end of November.  The next round of Food Orders will be available for purchase at the beginning of November. Please make sure you are registered with SchoolCashOnline in order to participate.

-For our full calendar and up to date information from the school, school board and connected community organizations visit our website: and make sure you are signed up for the UG CONNECTS app for all important school and school board websites in one spot
