Happy New Year SIB Families!
Everyone at SIB wishes everyone all the best in 2020, we are excited for a great year of learning and growing!

-Junior Kindergarten registration began on January 7th, 2020 for the 2020-2021 school year. Registration runs January 7-17, 2020. For more information, please visit: https://www.ugdsb.ca/kindergarten/registration/

– Cell phone use: Parents please encourage your child to talk to a teacher or the office first if they are sick, hurt or in need of something during the school day. We have many parents coming to the office to pick up their child and we are unaware that the child has contacted their parents. This is a safety concern and we would like to help. Thank you in advance for having a conversation with your children about this important reminder.

-Grade 8 Graduation Photos are being taken on Thursday, January 16th.

-School Council’s next meeting is Tuesday, January 21st at 6:45 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend!

-For parents using the Kiss’n’Ride, please make sure car seats are on the side closest to the sidewalk (right hand side) in an effort to expedite drop-off/pick up. Thank you for your help in this matter.

-Daily attendance at school can really add up! Please click on the link below to read more https://www.ugdsb.ca/sibps/2020/01/08/what-does-being-late-really-mean/

-STAY UP TO DATE ON LABOUR NEWS: The Upper Grand DSB has set up a website to provide updates regarding provincial labour issues and the impact on UGDSB schools and board sites. Please visit www.ugdsb.ca/labour for on-going updates.

-It has gotten cold and wet out! Please ensure your child(ren) has enough warm clothes to get through the day. We will be outside for recess unless it is raining and warm hats, mitts and boots are going to keep people warm throughout the day. We encourage students to bring extra warm, dry clothes just in case.

– Immunizations are tracked by the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health department. If you have questions or require an update on the current status of your families’ immunizations please go the website https://www.wdgpublichealth.ca/healthcare-providers/vaccines-immunization for more information.
