Hi SIB Families!

LABOUR: Upcoming strike dates and school closures in the UGDSB

Due to provincial strike action, Upper Grand DSB schools including Sir Isaac Brock PS will be closed to students on the following date:

  • Friday February 21 (elementary and secondary schools)

UPDATES: Please continue to check the board website for updates at www.ugdsb.ca/labour.

-Food Order Changed: Due to the school closures this week (Feb 21) Montana’s has been rescheduled to Thursday @ second break

-FOOD ORDERS are changing! All SIB food orders starting the week after March Break will now be ordered through Lunchbox. This easy to use system will allow families to order a single meal or as many as needed all from a simple log in. More information will be sent home about logging in but you can also go to www.lunchboxorders.com and click “ORDER LUNCH” or check out our website.

-Summit Climbing is back! The climbing and ropes program starts at SIB the week of March 2nd to the 6th. The costs for this program will be covered by school council funds and the SIB food fundraising. There are two consent forms which will be sent home by tomorrow and BOTH are required to be signed and returned. One is for the school and the other is for the climbing company. Form must be returned no later than February 26th.

-PARENT COUNCIL, ALONG WITH OUR SIB GRADE 6s will be selling COOKIES every Thursday during 2nd break: Each cookie is $2!

-Pink Shirt Day is Wednesday Feb 26th – We encourage everyone at SIB to practice kindness and wear pink to symbolize that you do not tolerate bullying.

-Parents please check the lost and found at the front of the school. Any unclaimed items will be donated to those in need after the March Break.

– PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD’s IMMUNIZATIONS ARE UP TP DATE AND RECORDED WITH PUBLIC HEALTH. Immunizations are tracked by the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health department. If you have received a letter, have questions or require an update on the current status of your families’ immunizations please go the website https://www.wdgpublichealth.ca/healthcare-providers/vaccines-immunization for more information.

– Cell phone use: Parents please encourage your child to talk to a teacher or the office first if they are sick, hurt or in need of something during the school day. We have many parents coming to the office to pick up their child and we are unaware that the child has contacted their parents. This is a safety concern and we would like to help. Thank you in advance for having a conversation with your children about this important reminder.

-For our full calendar and up to date information from the school, school board and connected community organizations, visit our website:https://www.ugdsb.ca/sibps/ and make sure you are signed up for the UG CONNECTS app for all important school and school board websites in one spot

Have a great week!
