SIB Start Up Parent/Guardian Communication
Dear SIB families,
We are getting closer to the start of the school and we couldn’t be more excited. It has been a busy week with teachers and staff in the school getting ready for the students to return. Please see the reminders below and we can’t wait to see everyone returning soon!
#1 STAGGERED ENTRY SCHEDULE:
Homeroom teachers and ECEs will be contacting families on Tuesday Sept 8th. The goal of the call will be for teachers to introduce themselves, connect with parents and provide some information about the first days of school. Most students at SIB will start school either on Thursday Sept. 10th or Friday Sept 11th. #2 OPENING DAY AND FIRST WEEKS OF SCHOOL PLAN: As you are aware, the Upper Grand District School Board has put extensive plans in place for the school year. Our school has now created plans that include both operational changes (how we manage the people and resources within the school) and health and safety changes (our response to the COVID pandemic). In many cases, these changes are significantly different to how we used to operate. We hope this document will help answer your questions about the specifics on the opening day and first week of school. In the document you will find our plan for notifying parents about who their child’s teacher is before they arrive at school as well as other important details such as changes to morning drop off and pick up (especially Kiss ‘n’ Drive changes) and how to connect with the school.
