School Council Meets Tomorrow + Reminders
Dear SIB families,
It is our first official full week with all SIB students in the building and we couldn’t be more excited! Thank you to everyone for making our start up a huge success and now that we are settling into a routine it is important to remember that the rules around masks and social distancing are in place for a reason and it takes a full team effort to make it work. Thanks again!
A few announcements as we get close to the end of September.
#1 Virtual SIB School Council Meeting on Tuesday, September 22nd: We would like to WELCOME all parents and guardians to our 1st Parent Council of 2020/2021, via Zoom meeting. This is a formal meeting where elections will occur for Chair, Secretary and Finance. If you are interested in any of these positions, please join us. We will have lots to discuss, but we will try and keep it as short as possible

#2 Parent Information: Monitoring and Managing COVID-19, this is an important reminder from Public Health about how we can all work together to help stop the spread. Click the link for more information: https://www.ugdsb.ca/sibps/2020/09/18/parent-information-monitoring-and-managing-covid-19/
#3 Masks, timing and social distancing on the tarmac: To help with social distancing protocols before and after school, we are asking that all students and parents/guardians please wear a mask when they enter the school grounds (tarmac area at the back of the school). We also encourage students to not arrive on the school grounds before 8:35am to help avoid unorganized large groupings. Parents/guardians we also need your help to please keep reminding your children about the importance of social distancing. Once we are at full student attendance we will have many people in this area and this will help protect everyone.
#4 Absent or Late? If you know that your child(ren) will be absent or late please call the school 519-824-1442, as you can leave a message 24 hours a day. If you leave a message on our machine and you know that your child will be absent for longer than one day please leave those details as well so the office can be as accurate as possible. Thanks!
#5 Forms to be returned to school: All students should have brought home a package of forms for parents to read. The following forms need to be updated/signed and returned ASAP to ensure all our information is up to date:
- Student Verification V22 (White)
- Consent to Share Personal Information (Green)
- Educational Field Trips Parental Information/Consent Form (Blue)
