COVID reminders for students returning on Monday
Hi SIB families,
We are excited to welcome our students back to the building after a month of Remote Learning! Please take a moment to read through the information below with more details related to everyone’s return to school.
We want to remind you of the temporary measures in place in order to keep our community safe.
Please conduct the Covid Screening with your child(ren) each day. Students cannot be in the building with the symptoms (or combination of symptoms) listed in the screening tool.
Students are required to wear masks all day, including outside at recess. Please send more than one mask as they get wet from condensation during the cold weather.
Personal items should be kept to a minimum. Please send in essential items that were taken home in December. This includes:
-Pencil Case
-Work books/binders
-Water bottle
-Indoor shoes
-Masks (2 – 3+)
-Medication (labeled in a bag and given to homeroom teacher)
Parents and visitors are not permitted in the school.
If your child normally rides the bus but you are picking them up on a certain day, please call the school.
If your child is going to be late or absent from school please call the school 519-824-1442. You can leave a message 24 hours a day.
Parents/guardians we also need your help to please keep reminding your children about the importance of social distancing. Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders:
-Students are not to arrive on the school grounds before 8:35 am (closer to the bell at 8:40!) to help avoid unorganized large groupings.
-Students will be lining up in their regular class lines as they arrive on the tarmac. Parents are reminded to please “drop and go” for our K-3 students when they get to their assigned line. Parents should wear masks on school property and try their best from entering the tarmac area to help keep social distancing measures in place.
-Greeters will be posted at all doors to welcome students and help sanitize hands.
Chromebook Reminder:
If you have borrowed a Chromebook device from the school over the remote learning period please bring it back to the school on Monday and give it to your teacher.
