SIB Chromebook Lending Request & Remote Learning

Happy New Year and Good Afternoon SIB families,

Earlier today, the provincial government announced that schools in Ontario will move temporarily to remote learning beginning on Wednesday, January 5. UGDSB elementary schools will hopefully resume in-person learning on January 17th.

We understand that some families will require a device to support student learning online. If you currently do not have a device from the UGDSB and require a device to support your child, please complete the following Google form by 10:30 tomorrow morning. This will help us to organize prior to your arrival.

Pick up of devices is scheduled between 12noon – 4pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.


Prior to coming to the school, you must complete a COVID19 Self-Assessment for yourself:

○  Be symptom free of respiratory illness

○  Have not been outside of Canada within the last 14 days from the date of entry to the school

○  Have not cared for or had known contact with an individual with confirmed COVID-19 or COVID-19-like symptoms (fever, new cough, difficulty breathing).

If you do not meet all of the conditions you MUST NOT come to the school, and other arrangements will need to be made.


The plan for pick up is as follows:

  • Call the school telephone number, which is displayed on front entrance doors, to indicate that you have arrived to pick up a Chromebook
  • If there are multiple people waiting, please line up outside of the front entrance and ensure that safe physical distancing is being followed
  • Only 1 parent/guardian for pick up
  • Face masks must be worn at all times
