Getting Ready for Remote Learning

Posted December 28, 2020

Hello Spencer Community,

On Monday Dec. 21, the provincial government announced that schools in Ontario will move temporarily to remote learning following the winter break. Following the announcement, the Ministry of Education confirmed to school boards that all elementary and secondary students will temporarily shift to remote learning starting on January 4th, 2021. UGDSB elementary schools will resume in-person learning on January 11th.  We understand that some families will require a device to support student learning from January 4-8.  If you currently do not have a device from the UGDSB and require a device, please complete the Google form below: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfslnGeKmQKaqAOE3zBf80ueWcvQQ78nwY0zQNSvB2oC2Jbeg/viewform?usp=sf_link

You will receive an email from the school indicating a date, time and procedures for pickup.

We also appreciate that for some of our families, remote learning is not possible due to cultural reasons and/or connectivity challenges.  If you require a paper package of learning materials please email me at [email protected] with your child and your child’s teacher’s name.

We appreciate that these are challenging times and we are working hard to support your child in their learning.
