Principal’s Message – October 9, 2021

Posted October 9, 2021

It was wonderful on Thursday to see so many kiddos dressed up in their finest for Photo Day – Take Two.  I am happy to say that all students who were present were able to get their pictures taken this time!

Did you know that we have a junior EcoClub.  Thank you to Mrs. Loon for organizing this opportunity for our students to take actions to improve the planet.  We had about 40 students in grade 4 to 6 express an interest in being part of this team.  We will be launching several campaigns and taking action as we work towards becoming a Gold EcoSchool. Stay tuned.

Mark your calendars…our next School Council meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 19th at 6:30pm.  An agenda and link to the virtual meeting will be shared next week.  All parents are welcome to attend.

Did you know that each day we celebrate days of significance, events, important moments in Canadian history and more on our announcement slide deck.  I love the discussions that come from many of the videos.  This past week we acknowledged some of the women who have made a difference in Canadian history as it is Women’s History Month and talked about the benefits of walking at part of International Walk to School Month. This coming week we will be celebrating the contributions of Muslims to the history of the world as part of Islamic Heritage Month.

A reminder to all of our families that this is the Thanksgiving weekend and as a result the school is closed on Monday.  We will see everyone back at school on Tuesday.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
