Principal’s Message – November 26, 2021

Posted November 26, 2021

Thank you for making time to meet with your child’s teacher(s) this week to discuss the Progress Report/ Initial Observations of Learning.  Looking at how students are progressing early in the year and setting goals is an important part of helping all our kids be successful.  Remember that you can reach your child’s teacher any time you have a question or concern.

As the snow begins to blow a reminder that we spend time outside every day.  Dressing for the weather and packing an extra pair of socks and mittens helps kids enjoy the great outdoors.  It is only when we have wind chills of -20 do we stay in.  Bundle up!

A reminder to parents that our parking lot is closed to vehicle traffic from 8:15am to 8:30am and 2:50pm to 3:05pm.  We have students coming from the walkway, from Spencer and from the field.  We want all our walkers to be safe.

We are having a Winter Break Food Drive in support of the Orangeville Food Bank.  Beginning on Wednesday, students will be able to bring in their non-perishable food and hygiene products.  The Food Drive runs until December 10.

Our EcoClub is participating in the Ontario Battery Recycling Challenge.  Send in your AA, AAA, D, 9 Volt and 6 volt batteries and our club will make sure that they are recycled.  We are unable to accept other types of batteries (e.g., car batteries) or rechargeable ones.

A note from School Council…Thank you for your support of the Little Caesars Fundraiser.  We will be sending information about pick-up next week.  Our Spiritwear Fundraiser is on until this weekend.  Don’t forget to order on Schoolcash Online.  Finally, remember to order your Fundscript online.

From the staff and students, thank you School Council for your support and for thinking outside the box.  Thanks to all parents who have supported these fundraisers.
