Principal’s Message – September 25, 2022

Posted September 25, 2022

It was fantastic to see so many of our families at our Meet the Teacher Night.  Thank you to those of you who were able to join us to check out your child’s classroom, meet our staff, and enjoy the line-ups at the book fair.  It is nice to open up the school again.

We had fantastic weather for our Terry Fox Run on Friday.  It was great to see our older students support our younger students as they celebrated each lap of the course together.

A Couple of Reminders:

Our school parking lot is closed in the morning from 8:15am to 8:30am and at dismissal from 2:40pm until about 3:10pm.  This is for the safety of our students who walk along the sidewalk at the perimeter of the parking lot and at the crosswalk.  It also helps with our buses.  If you need to drop off or pick-up your child please drop off your child on Spencer Ave and have them walk or park on Spencer and walk in with your child.

Tuesday is Picture Day.  We look forward to all the smiling faces 🙂

Tuesday is our first School Council meeting in the library at 6:30pm.  The focus of this meeting is the election of our executive for this school year.  All parents are welcome to attend.  Please see my email from earlier in the week regarding positions and the nomination form.

The Upper Grand is continuing to conduct it’s student census.  Parents of elementary students should have received an email with a link to the census.  For information please visit: https://www.ugdsb.ca/board/ugdsb-counts-student-census-2022/

We wish good luck to our Intermediate and Junior Soccer Teams who will be representing Spencer at the County tournaments this week.
