Principal’s Message – October 1, 2022

Posted October 1, 2022

Can you believe that October is here?  We want to congratulate our intermediate and junior soccer teams for their performances at the county tournaments last week.  The kids were so excited to be participating in sports again.  A special thank you to Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Lowrie and Mlle. Brown for coaching the teams.  Also, thank you to the parents who came out to cheer on our teams.

On Tuesday we are looking forward to bringing 70 runners to the cross country meet.  It feels great to watch the team run past my window at recess each day.

On Friday, 40 of our grade 6, 7 and 8 leaders got together as part of our Spencer Spirit Squad.  We have planned our first “colour house day” coming on Friday, October 14.  We are inspired by their enthusiasm and teamwork.  We can’t wait to see what they will do!  For those kiddos who still would like to be part of Triple S but missed our planning meetings there will be an opportunity for new members to join in a few weeks.

Thank you to all the parents who came out for our first School Council meeting of this school year.  Congratulations to our executive members:

  • Analia Peraza – Chair
  • Cari Mistry – Treasurer
  • Kelli Strutt – Secretary

Our next meeting is scheduled for October 25th at 6:30pm.  All parents are welcome.

Have you received your email and completed the Upper Grand’s Student Census?  So far about 35% of our parents have.  For more information on what the census is about visit https://www.ugdsb.ca/board/ugdsb-counts-student-census-2022/.  The census is open until October 9th.

A reminder that the school is closed on Monday, October 10th for Thanksgiving.

Have a terrific weekend!
