Principal’s Message – November 3, 2022

Posted November 4, 2022

We certainly have been lucky to have this warm stretch of weather and have been making the most of it by enjoying nature walks, moving gym classes and many lessons outdoors.

I am sending the Principal’s Message out a little early this week as many parents have been reaching out concerning the labour negotiations with Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), representing our valued custodial staff.  Please visit the Board website at www.ugdsb.ca for regular updates about the impact this will have on our schools.  Should there be a withdrawal of service, tomorrow, November 4th, the Board will do its best to keep schools and programs open.  Despite the efforts of UGDSB  management and non-unionized staff this will become very difficult without our valued CUPE staff.

Remembrance Day is fast approaching.  We will be having two assemblies to honour those who have served and are serving in the Canadian Military on Friday, November 11th.  Thank you to Mr. Lopes class who will be hosting the assemblies.  As we did last year, we will be including photos of our own Spencer families who have  family members who are serving or who have served.  If you shared a photo with us last year we will include it in this year’s slide show.  If you would like to have your family members included  please send photos via email to [email protected].
