School Report | Back to School News:
· Focus on safety and building relationships · Lots of learning and assessments to start the year
Staffing Updates for 2021-2022 · No reorganization planned, but some larger class sizes this year · Mrs. Kidd and Mrs. Heard have returned this year, also Mrs. Moynihan, Mrs. Roth, Mrs. Dubuc returned from online · New this year are 2 LTO teachers (Ms. Bertozzi, Mr. Eyer), 0.5 EA, 0.2 office coordinator and a new CYC

Council Elections | Jackie explained the roles of the Council Executive Positions. The following positions were acclaimed:
Co-chairs: Jackie Hammond and Ruth VanLoon Treasurer: Melynda Hutchison Secretary: Katie Nasswetter (with Lindsey Policelli interested for next year) Volunteer Coordinator: Sandy Mansfield and Richard Martin assisting

Council meetings will be scheduled the second Thursday of the month.

Q & A with Ken | Questions from attendees:
Were the memorial trees planted? · An oak and a maple tree were planted beside the friendship bench. There may be a dedication ceremony in the future.
What is Education Assistant (EA) coverage like this year – i.e. numbers of EAs, sharing and COVID · Currently have .5 less EAs than last year · Looking at school needs on a daily basis and coordinate with the Board on coverage · Some new students and the school currently needs more support
Has there been any discussion about going back to class cohorts in the schoolyard given COVID numbers? · Not at this time
Have concerns been raised about large class sizes? · A challenge but set up routines and classroom management to deal with larger class sizes · Kids are doing well with continuing COVID routines · Encourage appealing to the MPP or provincial leaders for more funding to reduce large class sizes
How many TEPS students are enrolled online? · 45 (last year: about 100)
Will there be school photos? · Scheduled for Oct 21st
Will there be pizza or milk days? · None are planned for now
Is the school planning activities for Sept 30th Orange Shirt Day? · Truth and Reconciliation week · Board has provided lots of activities for primary and junior students, Grade 5-8 have additional activities available

Fundraising | Fundraising Requests
· School license for Music Play programme (for K-8) $190 · FM systems – microphone and portable speaker $50-$70 per class
Fundraising is allowed this year within certain COVID safety parameters · I.e. the Dancethon could happen, but as individual classes, or outside · Terry Fox Run/Walk will happen this year
Fundraising Ideas · Provide a clear list of what we’re trying to fundraise for · Some ideas: Mabels Labels, Wally Parr Sausages, Bulbs · Potential online fundraising options · Raffle tickets (likely need a license) Action Items: · Mrs. Jones to request any teacher wishlists · Further discussion of fundraising requests and fundraisers next meeting
