Information about in-person learning for students in DD classes

Posted December 28, 2020

As you know, the message from the Minister of Education is that elementary and secondary school students province-wide will participate in remote learning from January 4-8 (elementary) and January 4-22 (secondary). In-person instruction will not be permitted during this period.

However, school boards have been required to make provisions for in-person support for students with special education complex needs where it is difficult to accommodate these needs through remote learning.

The UGDSB will therefore continue in-person instruction in our specialized classes for students with developmental disabilities (DD Classes). While most students will be remote for this period, students in our DD classes will continue to have transportation and daily instruction in schools. DD classes will begin at the normal time on Monday Jan. 4.
