Congratulations to our 2019-2020 Everyday Heroes

GUELPH, Ontario – During this year of uncertainty, many UGDSB staff, community members and volunteers continued to go above and beyond to support our schools and communities.

The Upper Grand District School Board is pleased to announce our 2019-2020 Everyday Heroes.

The Everyday Hero Awards Selection Committee chose nine finalists from a group of deserving nominees. This year’s Everyday Hero Awards recipients include dedicated school and board staff, a student and volunteers.

The criteria for the annual awards are: performance at a high level at all times, a significant school or system-related achievement, a specific innovation or achievement of significant value or importance to the system, or a unique circumstance worthy of recognition by the board.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are unable to honour our winners through an awards ceremony and reception.

The winners will be honoured differently this year through social media and board and school websites. Each winner will be presented with a plaque separately in the coming weeks. Presentations to the winners will be organized individually.

Congratulations to all of the winners, nominees and those who nominated them.

About the Upper Grand District School Board

The Upper Grand District School Board serves approximately 35,000 students through 65 elementary schools and 11 secondary schools in the City of Guelph, County of Wellington and County of Dufferin. The UGDSB covers the ancestral and traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Six Nations of the Grand River, and Saugeen Ojibway Nation Territories. Student success is the goal of over 4,000 dedicated teaching and support staff who are aided by the contributions of caring volunteers and community partners.
