Art-A-Thon A Success

A large group of Wolverine artists participated in the annual Art-A-Thon on May 26th, where students created art of their choosing over several hours, and then their artwork was auctioned off to students and staff through a silent auction.  Proceeds from the auction go towards the Art Department’s programming and extracurricular activities.  Over …

The 2022 Long Term Accommodation Plan (LTAP) Annual Review Report was approved

The 2022 Long Term Accommodation Plan (LTAP) Annual Review Report was approved at the Board Meeting of the Upper Grand District School Board on May 24, 2022. This purpose of this report is to review updated data and any other changes affecting accommodation. It is necessary for staff to monitor the relevance of the Board’s work plan priorities. The LTAP review report also provides the status of the 5-year work plan priorities identified for 2018-2022.

Changes to COVID-19 protocols effective March 14 and 21, 2022

UGDSB updates to come regarding provincial COVID-19 announcement

On March 9, 2022, Ontario announced changes to COVID-19 requirements effective March 21, including lifting mask mandates in schools.

Please note that the Upper Grand DSB continues to have a Board Resolution requiring masks in schools.

We will consult with the province and will provide additional information as soon as we can.

Secondary Schools: Online Learning Graduation Requirement

Beginning with the cohort of students who entered Grade 9 in the 2020-21 school year, all students in Ontario must earn a minimum of two online learning credits as part of the requirements for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma unless they have been opted out. In response, the UGDSB is offering an increased number of UGDSB lead eLearning courses.

The Hub is an opportunity for parents/caregivers in North Wellington to meet on a regular basis to discuss topics related to their child/ren’s schools and education, and to receive information from the board related to schools.

ALL UGDSB SCHOOLS/OFFICES CLOSED FRIDAY FEB. 18: Emergency remote learning/working day

Due to inclement weather, all UGDSB schools and offices are closed today to staff and students. Students are to shift to remote learning, where possible. Staff should not report to work in person, and should shift to remote working where possible. All buses and taxis are cancelled to Upper Grand schools.

Notice: Temporary cancellation of bus routes due to bus driver absences

The Transportation Consortium (STWDSTS) that provides student transportation services to the Upper Grand DSB and neighbouring school boards is advising that due to COVID-19, the Omicron variant and isolation requirements, they may experience higher than normal absence rates for school bus drivers. To address bus driver shortages and avoid cancelling bus routes at the last minute in the morning, some bus routes in the UGDSB will be proactively cancelled to free up drivers.

Secondary Schools: Semester 2 Information
