Teacher Resources

Classroom teachers are the primary point of assistance for students with learning challenges. Classroom teachers provide accommodations for students to give them every opportunity to demonstrate their skills. As classroom teachers continually assess students, they are also the first point of contact for Special Education, notifying our department when a student is struggling or should be assessed for particular learning challenges.

Accommodations

Below, find a glossary of accommodations. These are the changes we make to our instruction, our classrooms and our assessment in order to help students be successful. This document defines each accommodation and provides examples of how the accommodations might look in the classroom. Please note: Not all examples will work for all students. Accommodations are made based on strengths and needs as outlined in a student’s IEP.
