Principal´s Message

Posted October 31, 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope you enjoyed the month of October and survived the Halloween season. The past month has been very busy at school and we have been working in identifying student needs and collecting evidence on their progress.

The month of November is an important time in the year for supporting our students academically. On Nov. 2nd, staff will be collaborating and meeting to further develop understanding in Math. Math continues to be a focus in our school and across all schools in the province. A progress report will come home on Nov. 20th and we have set aside Nov. 30th as a PD Day to host our teacher/parent interviews. More information will be coming home about the interviews, which will include other opportunities to meet with your child’s teacher outside of Nov. 30th.

As we draw closer to the winter months, it is important that we ensure that students come to school prepared for the change in weather. If you are struggling to meet the needs of your child and need some support to provide appropriate clothing, please let me know as we can help you with this.

The month of November will have a focus on kindness. Each month we will have a focus for our students to develop their character. The focus will include a number of interventions and activities to help celebrate kindness. Anti-bullying week will launch on Nov. 19th; we are really excited about the activities that are planned.

Have a great month of November. As always, please connect with me personally if you have any questions or concerns.
