Plans to close Dublin Street at railway crossing

Posted March 2, 2020

The City of Guelph has advised the Board that the railway crossing at Dublin Street and Kent Street no longer meets Transport Canada regulations.  City staff will present a bylaw amendment to close Dublin Street at the railway crossing at the March 30 Council meeting. If the bylaw is approved by City Council, the permanent closure is planned for April 20, 2020.

Students will have to cross the railway using either Glasgow Street or Norfolk Street, however, this redirection is not expected to impact transportation eligibility.

Questions about the Dublin Street closure can be directed to [email protected] or 519-822-1260 extension 3414 and more information is available online: https://guelph.ca/2020/02/safety-regulations-spur-plans-to-close-dublin-street-at-railway-crossing/
