Retrieval of Student Belongings

Posted May 27, 2020

In light of the Ministry of Education’s announcement that schools will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019/2020 school year, William C. Winegard school has developed a plan for families to retrieve their personal items from school.

In order to keep everyone’s health in mind, and to follow social distancing guidelines, we ask that this process be followed:

  • Only one parent or guardian to enter the school to collect items
  • Line up at the front of the school – there will be two lines marked – one to go upstairs and a second line to access the main floor
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance and the exit of the building
  • We ask that everyone follow the arrows on the floor and exit at the junior/intermediate doors of the school onto the tarmac
  • Each class has been given a date and time when you can retrieve student belongings.  If you have more than 1 child please pick one time slot to come to the school.  Please click on the link below to access the pickup schedule:

  • Please do not park at the front of the school, where buses park. Use the school parking lot or the surrounding streets that permit parking.
  • Entry will be like at the grocery store.
  • Hand sanitizers will be available at both the entrance and the exit.
  • Please complete the following self-assessment tool prior to arrival:

  • No other meetings or activities are permitted and washrooms will be closed.
  • Guardians are only permitted in the school at the time allotted in order to ensure physical distancing.
  • Student belongings have been placed in clear bags with student names on them. Bags and other containers from home are not permitted.
  • The school playground continues to be closed, and there will be no supervision outside.
  • If your child has library books at home, you may bring them and drop them off in a bin in the front foyer.
  • Please be aware that line ups on this day may be long but we will do our best to keep things moving.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work together to help get your personal items back in your hands.
