Posted June 29, 2021

DownloadCongratulations to all Winegard families as we recognize the end of another school year.  The WCW Staff and School Community have continued to demonstrate their strength, resilience and adaptability.  You have been there to support one another and get through this together.   We are reminded of how this community is truly amazing.

On behalf of the WCW community we would like to extend a thank you to the William C. Winegard Staff for their dedication in providing quality educational programs to the children at William C. Winegard.

Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing summer!

Tentative Organization

A tentative organization for the 2021/2022 school year is included in this newsletter.  The organization is based on our enrollment in February and subject to change. Should there be further changes in enrollment, particularly in September, we may be directed to undergo a school reorganization. In that event class and staff assignments may change as directed by the school board staffing committee and Ministry of Education.

 SCHOOL COUNCIL

Thank you for another year of perseverance and planning!   We have appreciated that all parents and students have had a year of new things and are glad we have succeeded in completing the school year!  The School Council is of course,  made up of parents and we are with you in this time of change.  We have appreciated your enthusiastic contributions to our small fundraising events of the year,  and look forward to the next year, where hopefully we can return to some normalcy.  Please be safe this summer and we will see you all in September!

Download 1FROM THE LIBRARY LEARNING COMMONS

If you are looking for a way to keep up some daily reading at home this summer with your child, don’t forget that UGDSB students have continuous access to the Sora digital library. You can download the free app on a tablet or use the website https://soraapp.com/ to access hundreds of books (including books for adults). And if you are in need of some recommended titles, the Forest of Reading site offers lists of all of the current and past winners of their various age group awards. Happy reading!

COMMUNICATION BETWEEN SCHOOL AND HOME

Communication between school and home will continue to be very important.  We will use the school website and email as a means to share important school and board information.  As items come up, they will be posted in our News and Announcements section of the school website.  Our website and the school board is an important link to have in your favourites to stay on top of what is going on at the school.  Please check it often at www.ugdsb.on.ca/winegard and https://www.ugdsb.ca/.  We will also be using the messenger phone call out system and twitter as a means to share information. There is a link on our website to follow us on Twitter (@williamcwinegardps).

Winegard_logo_whiteTo the WCW Wolf Pack,

You are all very special and we believe in you.  Please take care of yourselves this summer.  We look forward to seeing for the 2021/2022 school year where we will continue to work together, to build our community, and create a safe learning environment for all.
