EJPS Week at a Glance (Nov 14 – Nov 18)

Chers parents,

EJPS will be in need of a new paid noon hour supervisor to help keep our students safe at lunch and at nutrition breaks (10:30 AM – 11:10 AM & 12:40 PM – 1:20 PM). The position will start at the beginning of December. We also need a back up emergency fill-in paid noon hour supervisor to support our team if someone needs to be away. If you are interested in either of these positions you will need a vulnerable sector police check before starting. If interested please contact me directly at [email protected] or come see me in person. I haven’t had any expressions of interest so far. EJPS NEEDS YOU!

November is diabetes awareness month and Monday is World Diabetes Day! November 14th was the day chosen to mark this occasion as its Dr. Fredrick Banting’s birthday (co-founder of insulin therapy)… It’s also a special year as it marks 100 years since the discovery of insulin therapy. https://www.awarenessdays.com/awareness-days-calendar/world-diabetes-day-2022/

We are encouraging staff and students to wear blue on Monday to show your support for those who are living with diabetes 💙 If you’re interested in learning more about diabetes or talking to your kids about it if they come home with questions you can check out one of these educational videos:

We thank everyone in advance for your support!

💙 Wear blue on Monday!! 💙

In other news, the EJ School Council has started the Poinsettia’s Holiday Basket Draw Fundraiser, please keep in mind the end goal is a playground!

Below are some important dates:

  • Monday, November 14th – Picture Retake Day

  • November 15-17 – Progress Reports will be available after 3PM on November 16th at EJPS

  • November 15 – School Council Meeting (6:30 -7:30)

  • November 21-25 – Bullying Awareness &  Prevention Week

  • November 25 – PA Day (parent-teacher conferences, more information to come)

Lastly, it was so nice to see the wonderful work and presentations produced by Mme Roberts Grade 5\6 class for our Remembrance Day service. We also appreciate the singing by the choir that Mme Mizutani and volunteers, Ellen and Gordon Webb, have been leading these past few weeks. Also, we wanted to share some sad news about the passing of a lovely crossing guard many of you knew who has served EJPS for many years. He will be missed and is a reminder and inspiration of how much a difference one kind person can make.

Merci beaucoup!

Olivier Cutz (Principal)
