EJPS Week at a Glance (April 22- 26)

Chers parents,

This morning we had a wonderful Earth Day assembly led by Mme Ammon’s Grade 5 class. It was very engaging, informative and creative. Thank you to Mme Connell & Andrews class for starting the assembly off with a song. Yesterday, the EJ Floor Hockey team had fun and were excellent role models at the tournament at KGPS. Thank you to Mme Forbes and our parent volunteer, Mrs. Perkins, for running this club. Next week, we wish our EJ Choir and Dragon Drummers their personal best at the Kiwanis Music Festival. Our whole school is looking forward to opening our doors for our Power in Numbers Open House on May 8th from 5:30-7PM and sharing our learning around numeracy.

In other news, it is hard to believe but we are already starting to plan our organization for the 2024-2025 school year. If you are planning a move to another school this summer, or know of someone moving into our school area for the 2024-2025 school year, please notify the office as soon as possible. Moreover, I wanted to comment that in the past, we have received a number of class placement requests for the coming school year. This can make class building very difficult and sometimes hinder the process significantly. We will not be taking any class placement requests for September 2025. If your child has some exceptional circumstances that require consideration when doing class placements, please email me directly at [email protected]. Please know that when placing your child in a class, we consider their ability, personality, productive and supportive learning friendships, learning style, and behaviour. Class building is a lengthy process that is given a great deal of thought by the staff. Thank you for recognizing that we do our very best for each and every student.

A message regarding popcorn sales:

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting our Grade 6 year-end trips by purchasing popcorn. The grade 6s have been working hard to process orders and balance the cash portions each week. We are going to do one more online purchase campaign from May 3rd to May 31st . After these 5 weeks, we will do some cash sales on Fridays to sell any remaining inventory. Thank you again for all your support with this fundraiser.

~ Mme Roberts and Mme Hill
