Centre Wellington District High School

Dear Centre Wellington Families,

We are writing to provide a brief update following this morning’s earlier communication.

Separate from the medical emergency referenced earlier, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the school to investigate a report that an individual at Centre Wellington District High School may have been in possession of a firearm. Police conducted a thorough investigation and have confirmed that the report was unfounded.

At no time were students or staff in danger. This situation was unrelated to the earlier medical emergency and did not require a Hold and Secure or Lockdown.

We appreciate the professionalism and timely response of our police partners, and we thank our students and staff for their continued cooperation throughout the morning.

As always, the safety and well-being of our school community remains our highest

priority.
