School

Hello Arbour Vista Families,

It is hard to believe that our 2024-2025 school year is drawing to a close.  On behalf of the  Arbour Vista team, we wish students and families good health, safety and well-being and we look forward to seeing  you in the fall.

Our Grade 8 students are off to new adventures at High School. We wish them all the best as they continue their learning journey.  Just remember, once a Viper, always a Viper.

Have a happy, safe and relaxing summer holiday. Farewell!

Farewell and Thank You

As the school year draws to a close, we come together to say a heartfelt farewell to some of our valued educators.

We extend our warmest wishes to Mme Kim Townsend and Mme Leanne Laurine. Mme Townsend will be joining the team at Sir Isaac Brock, while Mme Laurine will begin a new role teaching Kindergarten at Ken Danby. We wish them both continued success and happiness in their new positions.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our Long-Term Occasional Teachers: Mme Rowles, Mme Ross, and Ms. Wensing, who have completed their time with us this year.

It has been a pleasure working alongside all of these wonderful educators. Their dedication, passion, and contributions have made a lasting impact on our school community.

Report Cards

Final report cards will be available online Wednesday..  Report cards can be accessed through the Parent Portal.  Please see the link below.

Thank you for taking the time to assist in supporting your child’s learning needs this year.

Access Digital Report Cards for Parents/Guardians

The Upper Grand District School Board has an online parent portal called Parent ConnectED. Parents/guardians are able to access their children's report cards digitally through this portal. To assist with access and support any technical challenges that families might experience, the UGDSB has created a support website for Parent ConnectED found here: UGDSB Report Card Support.

Within this website there is support on the following topics:

  • How to create a parent portal account

  • How to access report cards

  • A list of links to schools report card websites

  • The parent-teacher interview booking process

  • Information on 18+ students granting parental access

  • What to do if you forgot your password

Talent Show

A big THANK YOU to the students and staff (specifically Mr Webb and Mme Rowles) who dedicated a lot of work to make the Talent Show possible. It is truly amazing how much talent is in this building. We never cease to be amazed by the talent and courage demonstrated by our students to stand in front of their peers and families to share their gifts. Well done everyone.

Reminder

Just a reminder that last week was the final week for pizza; there will be no more pizza days for the rest of the school year, and the only remaining food day will be Tuesday for students who ordered Harvey’s.

Student Medication

For those students who have medication at the school, families will have been contacted by now to arrange a time to pick up their child’s medication.  If you have not already done so, please contact the school by June 26th to arrange a  pick time prior to  Friday.

School Council Feedback

Make your voice count! Our hard working School Council is looking for feedback. Please take a few moments to complete the linked survey.

June PA Day

Please see below the outline for the PA Day on June 27th, 2025

Student Transportation

For information about bus transportation, please access the Service de transport de Wellington-Dufferin Student Transportation Services (STWDSTS) website at: https://stwdsts.ca/  for your child’s transportation information before the start of school in September 2025.

School Supplies

Before you know it, the Back-to-School advertising and sales will be starting! Sometimes families wonder what their child(ren) will need to bring to school.

All regular school supplies are provided to students by the school and it is not necessary to purchase anything. That being said, some children prefer to have their own materials. In this case, we suggest that you keep it simple with materials such as a pencil case, crayons, coloured pencils, glue stick, markers, scissors, etc.

The only items children need to bring from home are extra shoes for indoor use, a backpack, and a lunch box.

We wish you all a  happy and safe summer!  Please look to the school website at the end of August for details about the first day of school.

Have a great week and if we do not see you this week, please have a happy and safe summer.
