If your child needs dental treatment and cost is a barrier, please contact WDG Public Health for support. Please see additional letter from Public Health . Free Dental Screening Info

E-BIKE/ E-SCOOTER- Please be mindful if operating motorized scooters and bikes on walkways and sidewalks. We have had some close encounters. Bikes and scooters of any variety should be dismounted while on school property.

HALLOWEEN- Our school will celebrate Halloween with a costume dress-up day and/or black and orange attire. We kindly ask parents to consider the comfort and practicality of the costumes, as students will be wearing them all day. If your child chooses to wear a costume, please have them come to school in it. Additionally, it’s a good idea to have regular clothes on hand, as they may need to change part way through the day. Your child’s teacher will communicate any class-specific activities as needed. If your child(ren) will not be participating in Halloween, please inform their teacher, and alternate activities will be provided.

Costume Guidelines: It’s important that costumes do not use identities or cultures inappropriately. This includes avoiding cultural stereotypes, black/brown face, transphobic themes, body-shaming costumes, and those that make light of harmful situations (e.g., the COVID pandemic). Such costumes can perpetuate stereotypes and harm community members.

Additional Notes: -Accessories should stay at home -Please do not bring masks -We ask that students not share candy, drinks or treats; however they may bring a treat for themselves -Please remember that costumes should not be scary, as we have young students who may be frightened, be sure to clearly label your child's costume with their name

Thank you for your cooperation!

CROSSWALK REMINDERS-Thank you for taking the time to model safe crosswalk use in the parking lot with your child. This greatly helps us prevent students from walking between vehicles, which can lead to unsafe situations. Your support in reinforcing this safety habit is truly appreciated.

LATE ARRIVALS-Teachers begin attendance immediately upon entering the school. If your child arrives at school after the bell, please have your son/daughter enter through the front doors to pick up a late slip, as the office will register their attendance

ACCESSIBILITY & EQUITY-There may be times throughout the year when we ask parents to send in money to cover the cost of field trips, pizza, special events, etc. We understand that for some families, these funds may cause financial hardship. We never want a child to miss out due to financial hardship. If you are ever in this situation, please contact the school, and we will arrange to have the school cover the cost.

STUDENT PICK UPS-Thank you for informing the school when you will pick up your child for an appointment. The end of the day is very busy in the office. If you are picking up your child before dismissal for an appointment, call the office before 2:20 pm to ensure that the message is received in time.

Have a fabulous week!
