Hello Arbour Vista families,

For those who celebrated Halloween, we hope you had a fun and festive evening. And with the end of Daylight Saving Time, we hope you enjoyed that extra hour of rest on Sunday!

As we step into November, we’re looking forward to a month filled with meaningful learning, continued connection, and shared growth within our school community.

Faith Days During the month of November

Acknowledging and celebrating days of faith is an important aspect of many religious traditions and cultures. Different faiths have their own holy days, festivals, and observances that hold significance for their followers. During the month of November please see the days that will be acknowledged and celebrated by some members of our school community. Please note that there is diversity within faith communities and that no one list can represent all faith traditions or observances.

Danceathon Success!

A huge thank you from EAV School Council to all students and families for  supporting the Danceathon! We hope you had a great time. Your hard work is sincerely appreciated. It will help reduce the cost of DancED by $10 per student! Between donations and snack sales, over $5200 was raised to support DancED and graduation. It's amazing what a great community like ours can do when we come together.

Treaties Recognition Week

Treaties Recognition Week is held annually during the first week of November. This year the week will take place from November 2-8, 2025. The annual event honours the importance of treaties and helps students learn more about treaty rights and relationships. By learning more about our collective treaty rights and obligations, we can create greater understanding and nurture these relationships.

School Council

Our next School Council meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, November 4th at 6:30 PM. We welcome all parents and community partners  to attend.

You can find the link to the meeting on our school website under the “School Council” section.

If you're interested in volunteering for school events this year, we encourage you to join us at the meeting — it's a great way to get involved and support our students.

Bully Awareness and Prevention Week at the Upper Grand District School Board

From November 17 to 21, the Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) will be participating in Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week (BAPW). This week provides an important opportunity for students, staff, and parents/guardians to deepen their understanding of bullying, its impact on student learning and well-being, and ways we can all contribute to a safe, inclusive, and caring school environment.  This year’s theme is “Power for Good.”  Tuesday November 18 will be “Odd Socks Day” and Friday November 21st will be “wear Pink day.”

For families currently navigating a bullying situation, there are a variety of resources and supports available on the UGDSB website to assist and inform.
